The Roccolo: A Timeless Sanctuary

The “roccolo,” also known as a “ragnaia” or “boschetto,” is a traditional green structure originally used for bird hunting. Ours dates back to the 17th century and takes the form of a circular grove about 30 meters in diameter. It is made up of 300 holm oaks, carefully pruned each year like bonsai trees since they were first planted. Only two roccoli remain in Tuscany in such well-preserved condition.
No longer used for hunting, this special place now invites visitors to enjoy its calm and refreshing shade. Recently, it even hosted a sunset concert, offering a magical experience in harmony with nature and history.
